System time in logging functions?

I'm starting to use queuing functions, so one of the things I wanted to check was whether it is any slower to use the queues compared to some other ways of data exchange between two tasks. I created two tasks - Task A queues up a structure into the queue and Task B reads is. To test how fast this ha...

Re: How to change SPI Flash size in ESP32 in eclipse?

Thanks a lot,

I fixed it by changing to “Custom partition table CSV” in menuconfig and adding a csv file into the main project folder.
I followed these instruction:

Re: Problems installing IDF 4.1

Thank you very much for your response, I thought I should try to install everything from the Espressif extension. I deleted everything I already had and did a fresh install from the VS Code extension. It failed extracting the idf-exe tool, complaining about it's checksum. Tried twice - didn't work, ...

Problems installing IDF 4.1

Hi, I would like to ask for some help with installation of ESP-IDF 4.1. So far, I've been successfully using Visual Code with ESP-IDF 3.3 and ESP-IDF Extension. However, I want to try working with NimBLE and since it was not supported in 3.3, so I tried to install ESP-IDF ver. 4.1. I have several is...

Re: BLE variable attribute length

Great Che, thank you very much. This was really very helpful. Just one more question - A client sends an open Write (no response) cmd which starts an event handler on the server side. Would it be a problem if the server does a quick processing and immediately sends back a gatt notification to a clie...

Re: BLE variable attribute length

Thanks a lot Chegewara, I guess I created somewhat wrong picture about BLE (completely new field to me). My incorrect understanding was that if I want to get something from the peripheral I have to read that something. Actually, if hope I now understand correctly, just like you said, that a command ...

Re: BLE variable attribute length

Thank you very much for your reply Che. Is there any code example that you can direct me to? At the moment I'm thinking of using something like ble_spp_server example, but I'm not sure if I'm on the right path. Also, I certainly don't see this approach as something even remotely close to the use of ...

BLE variable attribute length

I developed an ESP32 application that uses TCP stack to receive commands from a remote host application, processes them and sends the response back. Each command has different number of parameters, so when receiving a command, the application first reads only one byte that gives a command ID and bas...

Bluetooth puzzle

I’m connecting up to 70 different sensors to an ESP32 board. These sensors will be infrequently polled from a host application running on a tablet or a smartphone. I’m using ESP-IDF framework and at the moment, I’m using WiFi, Berkeley socket APIs and Windows based tablet for this. However, in order...
