Re: ESP32 as Wlan Repeater

That would need forwarding in the lwip layer; I don't think anyone has made that work yet, let alone in a 'script'.

Re: UART Debbuging

Hmm, mysterious, not sure what else it would be. Yes, OpenOCD/GDB should work fine under Linux.

Re: ESP32 Automatic flash error

What board do you use? You're talking about an ESP32 but that is only the chip.

Re: question about the oscillators

How do you measure this? Sounds like you're not accounting for the overhead of the ISR being called.

Re: Mysterious voltage drop when ESP32 board is connected

Linear regulation (including the solution with resistors you chose earlier, given you choose resistors low enough to work) will always burn off the excess voltage as heat; no way around that. Look into switched mode power supplies for something that generates less hear; you can get modules like the ...

Your 'target remote' command is off. Try changing it to 'target remote localhost:3333'.

Re: ESP32 audio output

The ESP32 has a built-in 8-bit DAC; if you don't mind the not-really-HiFi quality of that you should be able to get away with an audio amp connected to this. Alternatively, for better sound quality, you can use an external I2S codec and amp.

Re: Interrupts and cores: can I free one core of any interrupts?

By default, everything runs on core 0. Core 1 should not have any interrupts out-of-the-box except for two: the FreeRTOS tick interrupt and the interrupt that is used to synchronize D-port accesses (workaround for a hw issue). You can disable the tick interrupt on CPU 1 if you also disable the idle ...

Re: UART Debbuging

Do you have openocd running? You didn't post your gdbinit but the reference to '3333' implies gdb tries to connect to OpenOCD (and fails).
