Re: Back to OTA partition fails

Hi meneldor, TG1WDT_SYS_RESET in the log suggests that Timer Group 1 watchdog reset the system. By default this is the interrupt watchdog timer. esp_ota_set_boot_partition() verifies the image before it allows it to be set for booting. Image verification currently uses a lot of SPI flash read operat...

Re: MQTT with Secure connection disconnection issue with IDFv3.0

Hi Rahul, You've explained the problem you're seeing well but without seeing your port it's not really possible to guess at what the problem might be. There aren't any changes in v3.0 that spring to mind as likely candidates, but it's hard to guess. Suggest either using a JTAG debugger or adding som...

Re: ESP32

Hi Sathiyan, PSRAM is not currently supported in arduino-esp32. You can use the ESP-WROVER module or the ESP-WROVER-KIT development board, but you can't access PSRAM from here. Presently using ESP32 -Wroom for development and looking for upgrading to ESP32-Wrover for the need of additional Code sapc...

Re: not able to enable ADC1 with ESP-IDF V3.0

Hi, Sorry for the slow update. The fix for this issue was merged to the release/v3.0 branch last week: https://github.com/espressif/esp-idf/commit/561f8ff5137720492b000f3c1a26d962755af84f If you check this branch out directly then you will have the fix. There will be a v3.0.1 release taken from this...

Re: Configuring the Brownout for when VDD3P3_RTC is fed 1.8v

Hi hassan, Thanks for your patience with this update. A new ESP32 datasheet (V2.2) has been released which corrects the VDD3P3_RTC voltage range (2.3V to 3.6V, with a footnote - see section 5.2 in the datasheet). VDD3P3_CPU voltage range remains 1.8V to 3.6V. You can download the new datasheet from ...

Re: ESP32 Wroom Design

Hi Sathiyan, Sorry, but I'm not sure I understand the question. For OTA applications (where the ESP32 loads firmware via WiFi or Bluetooth), no external connections are required. All of the SPI flash writes are performed by your firmware running on the device. This is entirely done with the ESP32 fi...

Re: how to set up jenkins (or other ci tool) for ESP-ADF

i saw there is a note in the build_example.sh which located in ci directory。 This script exists so that gitlab-ci can build all of the examples without having to build them all on a single job runner (ie it can distribute building lots examples across lots of runners). This is important when buildi...

Re: ROM bootloader and padding sections

Hi Gautier, You're right that the ROM bootloader is not aware of padding segments. The second stage (software) bootloader in ESP-IDF is aware of these. The ROM bootloader also doesn't know how to enable or configure the flash cache for an app, so any segments which are "loaded" to flash ca...

Re: Fundamental question about nvs library

Hi Zingemneire, There's a description of the on-flash NVS implementation here: http://esp-idf.readthedocs.io/en/latest/api-reference/storage/nvs_flash.html However I don't think it specifically describes the behaviour once a page is full. Your explanation is essentially correct, although all erasing...

Re: EN and BOOT Buttons

I have good news and bad news! Bad news, the EN button is connected to the EN pin on the ESP32, so pressing it will reset the ESP32. Good news, the BOOT button is connected to GPIO0 (which is also a bootstrapping pin to set the boot mode ), so pressing it will pull GPIO0 low. You can use this as a g...
