Have you selected the right module in Arduino and running the latest version ?
If yes I have No clue .

Have you try using Google ?
Long Range WiFi migth work else you can try using Lora.

You can also try RCWL0516 radar sensor, it works 360 on people, large range but might fits the cast.

I think TFT espi can be used with the 3.5 LCD for raspberry pi, try search for it ;-)

You can setup one esp32 as WiFi Access point and the other as Station, so you define ssid and password in both, then no one else can connect unless you give the the details 😉

Have you try with lower speed and only one (1) slave ? Do you then have errors ? How have you made your physical connections ? If your speed is 100.000 bps and you read every 100ms how is your timing then ? Suggest you try with one connection, use task to poll incomming data and.make that work 100 %...
