what happens if the timeout trigger? (the call aborts)
can we repeat ? repeat count?

short and honest: just in time i use more and moretimes the pico kit board for fast conect and doings so I would suggest you to have a look to the ESP32-PICO-D4 Kit - small - compact - FCC and more - handy - easy possible with pSRAM expansion - ... but there are many many very good boards on the mar...

@rudi The support for HW I2C slave in MicroPython is now finished, the update including it will be committed for the weekend. I've tested I2C slave opperations quite a lot and it works with no problems. It is even possible to emulate some existing I2C devices. I'm planning to open GitHub repository...
