Re: ESP-WROOM-32 Flash Size

From what I can tell, this arrangement breaks SD CARD support. I ca't get any reply from Espressif on my other issues raised regarding this, but SDCARD works fine with default WROOM-32 module, but breaks when this external flash arrangement is used. Not recommended. Better to just source a 128Mb fla...

Re: Boot/EN Auto-program transistor circuits

With a simple breadboard using standard Espressif example code and a Geikcreit development board. Wiring is GPIO14 -> CLK, GPIO15->CMD, CPIO2->D0, GPIO0->GPIO2 link, GND and 3.3V. 10K Pullups on CLK, CMD, D0 and D3. Software is set to 1bit SD mode. In that case, GPIO0/GPIO2 has 2.567v. Pressing BOOT...

Re: About the CAN controller.

One other comment; CAN requires at least two devices active on the network in order to operate. Can't transmit without a receiver.

Boot/EN Auto-program transistor circuits

I've been unable to get SDCARD to work reliably, and have narrowed the issue down to the Boot/EN auto-program transistor circuit. My IO0 and IO2 are tied, as per recommendation. On the original DEVKIT-C (v1, I think), these switches never worked reliably. I got into the habit of holding down the boo...

Re: SDIO Interface

Indeed, WiFive is correct. If you have an SPI flash chip connected to the standard pins, there will be a conflict between SDIO master and SPI0 peripheral. If you want to use SDIO master on HS0 slot, you need to move SPI flash chip to a different set of pins (this is possible by programming Efuses)....

Re: More SDCARD issues

I'm very stuck on this. The 0x109 status I am getting back is caused by a checksum status in the IRQ status register. I'm even seeing this on commands without any reply, which implies a transmit checksum issue? The checksums seen on the external logic analyser all look ok. I've tried breadboarding t...

Re: More SDCARD issues

And here is a close-up of the R3 reply with OCR register. Is that the expected reply?
(OCR seems to be 00000000 11111111 10000000 00000000)

Re: More SDCARD issues

Here also is the reply R1 to the prior CMD55: Screen Shot 2017-10-13 at 8.22.37 AM (2).png I only have very limited knowledge of the SD protocol. I did put a scope on the CMD and CLK lines, and the traces look clean. This part of the negotiation seems to be at 400Khz clock. The logic analyser (a Sal...

More SDCARD issues

I'm struggling with SD card support. It was previously working fine on my board, but now seems unreliable and intermittently not working. Only 1 out of 4 SD CARDs I have works at all, and even that one tends to corrupt data randomly. To try to diagnose things, I've breadboarded up the Espressif SD c...
