Re: ESP32 - Flashing does not work

You seem to have QIO mode selected. It could be that your board does not support that (for now). Can you run 'make menuconfig' and then in the serial flasher configuration menu select DIO and try again?

Re: Is the sockets API supported?

Yes, with FreeRTOS as the standard in esp-idf, the sockets interface is fully supported. We will probably support the espconn_* interface as well eventually, but chances are this will be implemented as a layer on top of the BSD sockets.

Re: External Flash/SRAM

Yes, I think the datasheet contains old info. The next version of the techdoc should contain the MMU chapter as well, where you can read the technical spec in detail. From what I can see there, we support 16MiB of flash memory. This can be mapped to 4MiB of D-port address space, and slightly less th...

Re: Does the Esp32 support hardware based I2C or software bit-bang based I2C ?

Yes, the digital portion has two hardware I2C modules. You don't see the pins for it in the pinout because they're conencted to the GPIO mux and you can connect them to any of the (output-capable) GPIOs.

Not offhand... but it's a standard ILI9341 SPI LCD, the code should be compatible with a fair amount of other ones like it as well.

Re: ESP32 Launch Event & Demos

I was there, it was all in Chinese, sorry :) We'll make sure to release the demos in time. You know how it goes with demos: even if they work, under the hood they often are a rushed mess that works around all the bugs you can't fix in time... we'll need some time to make everything presentable.

Re: An example of BLE?

Not yet, sorry. The bluetooth code still needs integration into the ESP-IDF.
