New date: Mid September
Some news from our favorite kickstarter project: ESP32 chip not available for volume production until 15th September I assume this is pending good hw verification, no silicon bugs. It would be nice to have an official source for production updates. Is there a qq group or something where this type of...

Re: Related Documention
I think the first silicon will arrive somewhere this week; we need to throughly test it before we can even use it internally (because we need to know 100% sure the analog bits work as intended) and even more before giving the OK for sales. We assume it'll take some time before the chips are in your...

Re: WROOM-32 flash size?
Thanks. Does wroom32 have rtc crystal onboard? Data sheet says yes, but hdk module reference design doesn't have it. So reference design is intended for lowest cost modules like ai-thinker esp-3212, but wroom32 design is different?ESP_Sprite wrote:On the WROOM32 it will indeed be 4MB (= 32Mbit).

I get nervous whenever you say that like it is in the non-immediate future.ESP_Sprite wrote:once we're done with the ESP32 SDK.

Obviously you want to build/test against actual hardware first, which should be in your hands now or in a few days? Any hint as to a target date for the first public ngsdk?

Re: WROOM-32 flash size?
The flash is external and the data sheet says up to 64MB. So 4MB is expected but not stated explicitly as default.

Re: CAN interface ?
Is the can controller mutually exclusive with one of the uarts or separate?ESP_Sprite wrote:Sorry, no. Also: The CAN bus is muxed over the GPIO matrix, so it's not in the pinout because it does not have a fixed set of pins.

What is that SDK going to be called? Will it be under a different repo?ESP_Sprite wrote:The 'real' ESP32 is going to have a somewhat different SDK with native multicore multithreading.

Re: August is here! Ready for launch?
To me, esp32 launch should be more like iPhone launch. Where can I camp in line? Why is nobody else excited? How come no one is even deleting the spam posts in this forum?
