Re: Win 10 make error liblto_plugin-0.dll

pulling latest esp-idf broke our win10 boxes too :(

in $IDF_PATH/make/project.mk around line 293 change "gcc-ar" to be "ar" seems to work.

looks like xtensa-esp32-elf-gcc-ar.exe in the build system is missing some dependencies.

Re: wearleveling filesystem image uploading

I suggest download the whole 4M flash image and open in your favorite hex viewer/editor and search for the string "MSDOS5.0" three bytes before the 'M' is the start of your FAT filesystem. My FS was 0x1000 higher than I expected. Once you know where then adjust your start address and redownload. Ver...

Re: wearleveling filesystem image uloading

Putting /html content on a fresh system was exactly what we wanted it for but I guess we better build a loader that uses fileio to be safe long term. Can the wear leveling counters be reset so a new fat filesystem can be loaded and can be trusted to work on anything but a fresh module?

Re: wearleveling filesystem image uloading

Success! Using the partitions.csv shown below I found the fat filesytem created by esp_vfs_fat_spiflash_mount() at 0x111000 (Not 0x110000 as expected). Downloaded the fs with: $IDF_PATH/components/esptool_py/esptool/esptool.py --baud 115200 --port com3 read_flash 0x111000 0xF0000 spifat.img could no...

Re: How to use virtual file system.?

Sorry for slow reply jgfrmesp - I'd not seen this thread was still active. Is there any reason we'd not want to move on to using the wear leveling driver that's now in the esp-idf? So far it's been working well in my tests other than I've not solved how to flash a prebuilt filesystem.

Re: wearleveling filesystem image uloading

Thanks very much for the reply.
Build a 1M FAT image and flashed it to 0x100000 but esp_vfs_fat_spiflash_mount() still triggered a reformat so guess I'll need the experts to be my guide once again.

wearleveling filesystem image uploading

I'm I correct to assume the new wear leveling spiffs would not work with mkspiffs created filesystem images? and if that is correct is anyone working on a new tool or updating mkspiffs?

Re: How to use virtual file system.?

I got a port of the LUA's SPIFFS component running under ESP-IDF-V2.0 last week so finally have a spiffs based vfs. It's still relatively untested but msg me if you'd like a link to clone the project. There is supposed to be a official version coming from espressif but we were getting desperate so h...

gdb/jtag errors

Try to track down a problem with udp netconn callbacks (and more on the later) and finding gdb crashing regularly when adding a new breakpoint from a halt at a current breakpoint. Anyone else seeing this? (gdb) c Continuing. esp32.cpu0: Target halted, pc=0x40084507 /home/ivan/e/crosstool-NG/.build/s...
