ESP-IDF v5.1 is a minor update for ESP-IDF v5.0. Release v5.1 is mostly compatible with apps written for ESP-IDF v5.0, but there are some breaking changes which will require code changes when updating projects. Release v5.1 is the latest stable release at the time of writing.
