I am looking for a ESP32 based module with scope for power measurement.
Would like to power up the ESP32 from a external power source and do some power analysis..

Which board do you guys recommend?

I would recommend HydraESP32v1.1 Rev1.0 (with ESP-WROOM-32) see link here https://hydrabus.com/2016/11/16/hydraes ... -is-alive/
  • It is heavily recommended to solder also the big GND (on center) of the ESP-WROOM-32 for heat dissipation in case you use everything Wifi+BLE+Dual Core@240MHz...
  • It is also heavily recommended to solder the LDO with capacitor for a good stability on the +3v3 (those components are not mandatory if you have a good external power supply)
  • You can cut the PCB to use it without HydraBus, this board is designed to be simple in order to measure power consumption ...

You can use any ESP32 module and attach some I2C Power Monitor Sensor like:
