Flashing ESP32 over serial wires only

I am attempting to create an implementation of my own, using python to emulate another microcontroller capable of a serial connection, my ultimate goal is to be able to flash the ESP32 with a firmware update of size roughly 205kb completely over serial, using Update.writeStream() in Update.h from the ESP32 arduino library. My main questions - is this possible, and if so how? I am sending this update in 512 byte streams over two serial wires and I am stuck.
