Restore factory ESP32

Postby filipesdkerplunk » Mon Oct 18, 2021 7:04 pm

Hi!

I would like to know if there is any way to get ESP32 to reset to factory settings.

Thanks!

Define 'restore to factory settings'? Aside from configuration in eFuses, all settings are stored in the flash, so cleaning the flash will remove all settings. If you burned any eFuses (and you would likely know if you have, the process generally involves lots of warnings), you cannot undo that.

I flashed some data using EEPROM, started getting several "Guru Meditation StoredProhibited" errors. I cleaned the flash with "erase_flash", I keep getting the same errors and noticed that other things stopped working on ESP32, such as bluetooth classic. I load the sample sketck from the bluetooth library and no device can connect.

How can I know if there is a problem with the efuses?

As I said, you'd know if you messed with the eFuses. Given that firmware doesn't seem to play a role, could your issue be related to the power supply? Might be worth getting a thicker USB cable or using an external PSU for your devboard.
