Has anyone successfully detected tap/s with MPU6050?

I want to detect taps with MPU6050. I've looked almost everywhere, but can't find any information about detecting taps with MPU 6050. The MPU6050 library that Espressif provides in the component registry doesn't event have DMP let alone taps.
