Whats the largest firmware binary you've seen?

Postby tpbedford » Wed Feb 08, 2023 3:37 am

My firmware with a couple third-party components is 1.82MB. Has anyone seen significantly larger?

A 4MB ESP32 has too little margin for my comfort once I add NVS and a small SPIFFS area, so I'm running a 16MB part. I currently have 3.01MB per OTA partition and am curious if anyone's firmware binary is threatening to overflow even this?

Code: Select all

nvs, data, nvs, 0x9000, 0x4000,
otadata, data, ota, 0xD000, 0x2000,
phy_init, data, phy, 0xF000, 0x1000,
ota_0, app, ota_0, 0x010000, 0x2E0000,
ota_1, app, ota_1, 0x2F0000, 0x2E0000,
storage, data, spiffs, 0x5D0000, 0x030000,
(...plus some reserved areas defined after this of varying sizes, to take it up to 16MB, in case a future OTA update has need for another storage area)
