two ESP32, same code; one provides AP other does not

Postby charliemore » Sun Dec 29, 2019 12:28 pm

Hi, I'm currently working with two (ESP32D0WDQ6 based) TTGO T Display devices. I uploaded the arduino WiFiAccessPoint example sketch to both. One device works as expected and its access point can be seen from a laptop and mobile phone, the other one can not be seen from a laptop nor phone while it runs the exact same code, no matter how many times I flash it. For the rest both devices work as expected and are capable of connecting to a wifi router, so the hardware should be okay. I suspect the cause to be something like data corruption in some part of the wifi firmware.

Does anyone have a clue as to what this might be and how I could fix this?

Thanks in advance!
Charlie

Wiping the entire flash appears to have fixed the problem. Not sure what got corrupted such that only the AP feature was broken but I am glad that it works again :D . Hopefully this will save some time for people who have the same problem in the future.
