"Timed out waiting for packet header" error

Postby oleklian » Thu May 19, 2022 6:50 pm

Hi,

I am pretty new to all of this, but I have for some time now wanted to try to learn and maybe make some cool projects for myself. However I am stuck at start!! I was hoping some of the more experienced people in here might give me a pointer in the right direction :D

I started by buying a development board: NodeMCU ESP 32-S based on Wroom-32. However, when I try to upload any sketch from Arduino IDE I get the error message " fatal error occurred: Failed to connect to ESP32: Timed out waiting for packet header"

(I also have from before a 8266 based board which works perfectly!). Some googling told me the Wroom32 should use "Firebeetle-ESP32" board in Arduino.

Just to try everything, I tried every possible ESP-32 board in Arduino. For DOIT ESPduino32 and ESP32 FM Devkit I got different error messages, however, a null point exception:

And for D-duino-32 Devkit I got a third error message

Anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.
